#RUNNING MAN 434 TITLE HOW TO#
You get the impression that King himself didn't even know where he was taking things, that he was figuring out how to get Richard out of each corner as he was writing the scene, and IMO that actually makes the story all the more gripping as a result. Absolutely exhilarating, not to mention so many twists and turns along the way. King wrote it in a six-day cocaine binge, and you could really feel that adrenaline throughout the entire 300 pages. It's one of those books where you forget you're reading a book for hours at a time. Still not sure what the fuck that ending was about, but it completely hooked me into the story in a way that so few novels manage to do. I was in high school and my brother brought it home from the library, I read the first few pages out of boredom, and next thing I knew it was 3am and I was finishing up the last few pages. I didn't even intend to read it in one day. The Long Walk gets props from me for being one of the only novels I've ever read in one day. (Or in Rage's case, removed from publication.) But the great ones (The Long Walk and The Running Man) are well-known while the other ones have pretty much been forgotten. His Bachman books are just like the rest of his books: some of them are great, and some of them aren't. The Dark Tower: The Wind Through the Keyhole The Dark Tower II: The Drawing of the Three I hope at least one other person out there was hoping to find a list like this Enjoy :) I couldn't find a list like this anywhere so I decided to make one myself. I was so bored I decided to compile the list of all of Stephen King's work (most of it anyway) and organize it by word count, largest to smallest. I'm not sure what this quarantine has done to me.
